C6ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber-Defense and Combat Systems and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance)
These terms were developed and defined by and for the military, but they really relate to all aspects of business and C6 is in business to show you how to develop plans, analyze the data, deploy solutions, maximize the benefits, and avoid the pitfalls of each concept.
Command & Control
Command and control functions are performed through an arrangement of personnel, equipment, communications, facilities, and procedures employed by a specified “Mission Director” (Commanding Officer, civil agency director, or corporate officer) in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling forces and operations in the accomplishment of the mission.
Mission Directors are assisted in executing these tasks by specialized staff of senior to mid-ranged personnel that provide a bi-directional flow of information between stake holders and operational assets.
Communicating within a specified team is mainly focused on providing accurate, timely information which represents information by category on which decisions are based to effectively manage unit resources. While information flow toward the mission director is a priority, information that is useful or contingent in nature is communicated to lower staff and operational units to allow for a common operating picture (COP) to be maintained.
In modern warfare, agency, and corporate operations - computers have become a key component for information exchange and analysis. Whether you are directing the warfighter, directing field operations, or managing a supply chain, computers are the common interface relied upon to gather, sort, and analyze pertinent information.
Cyber defense applies to all aspects of national and international operations. Cyber Defense is the mitigation of multiple threats to communication and computer systems operated by military, civilian, and commercial organizations.
Though combat systems apply to military operations, the deployment of any asset can be viewed in this category. Using gathered information to manage and control deployable systems though the network is a common requirement affecting military, civilian, and commercial operations. Whether you are deploying a weapon, directing agents in the field, or directing a fleet of trucks in your supply chain, you need to ensure gathered information is structured in the most effective way to manage any resource.
Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (ISR)
ISR concepts include satellites, manned and unmanned aerial systems, and human intelligence operatives. The coordinated and integrated acquisition, processing and provisioning of timely, accurate, relevant, coherent, and assured information and intelligence to support the mission directors conduct of activities.
Goldbelt C6 combines all of these concepts to assist our clients in operating a global, enterprise-wide system which aides in the planning, installation, resource acquisition, and management of assets.
